Remember The Superheroes!

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “For Posterity.”

Your blog just became a viral sensation. What’s the one post you’d like new readers to see and remember you by? Write that post.

WOW! A viral sensation? That too this blog? A dream come true eh?

Even if this “publicity” is the bad kind, there’s only one thing on my head; the famous words of Captain Jack Sparrow.

Captain Jack Sparrow

So irrespective of the type of sensation that this blog is creating, you’re here reading this, so it kind of does solve the purpose.

On reaching the ultimate milestone of the “nearly-the-million” viewers on this blog, this is something I’ve always wanted to share.

“Superheroes aren’t real”,
My father told me each night,
“They don’t fight the monsters, child”,
“They don’t even fly”.

“Superheroes aren’t real”,
Although I opposed,
Parents are, aren’t they?
Fosturing us daily, unexposed.

“Superheroes aren’t real”,
But I never accepted,
Survivors fought daily, didn’t they?
Saving themselves, though unexpected.

“Superheroes aren’t real”,
I fought time and time again,
Standing up to the bullies in school,
The “little” ones getting power from pain.

“Superheroes aren’t real”,
Keep repeating ’cause I ain’t listening,
Single parents coping the hard life,
Saving penny by penny for the upbringing.

“Superheroes aren’t real”,
Tell it to me once again,
Super strength and speed is not the only way,
Nor do I need the last name “Wayne”.

“Superheroes aren’t real”,
Put it on repeat if you can,
Never can you make me stop,
Believing that I sure can.
